Disturbing news..

This just in.
I have been informed that a group of southerners, arriving in a christian city north of beirut, found refuge in a school building. Afterwards, they got on the roof, and planted the hisbullah flag on the school roof.

The residents had to intervene harshly to make them take the flag off of the roof.

what do you think about that ?

and I guess this is what the residents did, won't you agree ?
We have learned our lesson from the palestinians, whome we welcomed as refugees, but then they started shooting at us, wanting to make their own rules.. some refugees..
This won't happen again.

Pres. Bush says God told him to invade Iraq. I think this qualifies him as a crusading, religous fanatic. I must say it doesn't seem very smart to plant the hezbollah flag on a roof, for you are asking to get bombed. I hope you stay safe in Lebanon, Jean. J'espere que tout va etre bien pour vous!
Bonne chance!

Of course they put the flag down.
The christians love the hizbullah as much as the israelis do.

@ryan, merci pour tes voeux, je suis hors du Liban. ça ne va pas être très dur de fuir les bombes ;)

Those refugees sound very ungrateful to me... good thing the residents noticed the flag. People there need to make sure that only 100% civilian refugees are taken in, and not armed militia.

Thank you for that update Jean, about Beirut. Seems to be that world media fails to see that the IDF's bombings focus almost exclusively on Shi'ite targets.

Apparently, this incident was repeated in several cities, each time the residents intervening or even calling the army to help.

@phanarath,

Unfortunately, Danemark is not the only country picturing the whole lebanon as hizbullah (HA) supporters. I myself live in Europe, and am amazed as to how Lebanon is sometimes perceived. I hope this changes very soon.

As for your point of view about the NATO-force to be dispatched, I wouldn't mind the NATO-force to be directly in the south in the first period, with the lebanese army, in order to have a transition phase. After that, the NATO-force could move up north, like you suggested.

As for God, the saddest thing is that all the extremists put God as their inspirer and their leader, and they do all what they do for "the glory of god"... what a shame.
I even read yesterday a post where a muslim pictured jesus leading the muslim people to throw the "infidel jews" to the sea.. maybe it was a desperate attempt to rally the christians to his cause...
But anyway, it was just to picture to you the human stupidity sometimes.

Phanarath, I got actually contacted by several foreign medias, that were interested in showing a different image of lebanon than that you have talked about that is going on in Danemark.
I will leave you my eMail, so you can contact me.
You can also forward it to a journalist if you happen to know one.

Regards,
Jean
